Porsche Hosts Rennsport Reunion IV at Laguna Seca in October

Porsche has announced that it will host Rennsport Reunion IV at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca from October 14-16 this year.  The Rennsport Reunion is a gathering of Porsche racers from the past to celebrate the company’s tradition and future.  The festival will feature vintage Porsche racing and a Concours d’Elegance show for race participants. There will be a series of 911-specific events to celebrate the racing history of Porsche’s most-famous model. Models at the event will include 550 Spyders, 917s, 956/962s, 911 GT3 RSRs and a host of 356s, 904s and 911s. Sandra Bernard Brings More Than 30 Years Experience To Our Accounting Department

For more than thirty years, Sandra has served as either an office manager or controller of primarily high-line automotive dealerships here in Houston.  As a valued member of our office staff, we're fortunate to have her to handle all of our billing and accounts receivables. Porsche’s Plug-In Hybrid 918 Spyder Goes from Dream to Reality in 3.1 Seconds and is Now Available for Purchase from Porsche of North Houston

We at Porsche of North Houston are proud to announce that we are now taking orders for the amazing 918 Spyder. After outstanding customer response to the concept car first shown at the 2010 Geneva Motor Show, Porsche is bringing to reality the next generation Porsche super car that marries unique plug-in hybrid technology and outstanding performance in a visually stunning and purely Porsche package.

To ensure the 918 Spyder’s worldwide exclusivity, Porsche will produce no more than 918 examples of the model based on past Porche designs like the Carrera GT super sports car and the legendary 917 and highly successful RS Spyder race cars.

The 918 Spyder will combine super high performance with very low fuel consumption and emissions and is powered by a high-revving, mid-mounted V8 engine with capacity of more than 4.0 liters and producing at least 500 horsepower. The 1970 Porsche 911 S is a veteran of the silver screen, having been featured in the opening sequence of McQueen’s epic tribute to automobiles and motorsports, “Le Mans.”  The 911 was used as the actor’s personal car during the filming of “Le Mans” while he was living in a rented 30-room 15th century chateau in France. The car is also mentioned in the book, “Steve McQueen: The Life and Legend of a Hollywood Icon,” in a passage where the star takes a visiting Hollywood executive on a 100 mph ride through the French countryside.

Porsche Celebrates 25 Years of Custom Cars

25 years ago Porsche became the world's first car manufacturer to create a special customization department at its factory. The program, called Porsche Exclusive, allows customers to get a car from the factory with just about any personal detail and refinement they want.  To celebrate the program's silver anniversary the Porsche Museum in Stuttgart, Germany is showcasing the Exclusive's special skills and craftsmanship with a 25 years of Porsche Exclusive show running through May 1st.

Visitors will be able to see some of company's most unique and rare special models, including the Porsche 911 Turbo S 3.6, which in 1997 was the first Porsche series production sports car to break the 186 mph barrier. Also on display is one of only two Porsche 911 Speedsters in the world, as well as a gold-colored Porsche 959 that was extensively modified for a member of an Arab royal family and which features, among other things, gold plated tailpipes. A book is being published in conjunction with the exhibit.

Meet our Service and Parts Director, Gary Schulze

Gary’s distinguished automotive career began in 1975 in Austin, Texas.  He came to Houston in 1990 with more than ten years experience with the Porsche brand to run a multi-line Porsche service and parts department.   The Texas-native’s thirty-six plus year career has been a series of successes holding the titles of Service Manager, Service and Parts Director, VP of Fixed Operations and ultimately General Manager and Managing Partner of a Houston dealership in 2005.  Gary joined indiGO Auto Group in 2011 bringing unmatched service and parts management expertise.  “Our goal is for each customer to have a completely satisfying and memorable parts and service experience with every visit,” he said. “We make it fun, professional, but most of all memorable.”  Gary’s enthusiasm about the car business is as infectious as his admiration for dealer principal Todd Blue. “I think Todd Blue and the organization is what the car business used to be like before public companies started to buy up dealerships.”  He added, “It’s an entrepreneurial experience here… Todd brings his philosophy and smile to the table with his managers and employees.  It’s not just a job, but a growth opportunity.”  On the weekends, you can catch Gary at his farm in Cat Spring, Texas, just forty miles west of Houston riding around on his green tractor and spending time with his two sons and two granddaughters.

This Saturday, March 5^th, from 7am-9am, Lamborghini Houston, part of our indiGO Auto Group family, is hosting the incredible event Houston Coffee & Cars at the Lamborghini Houston dealership located at 13921 North Fwy (I-45).  The event is free to all and more than 350 specialty cars are expected to be on display and hundreds of spectators will be in attendance.

Houston Coffee & Cars started as a vision to have automotive enthusiasts who own and drive rare machines share their passion with others while enjoying a cup of coffee the first Saturday morning of every month, quickly turned into one of the country’s top automotive gatherings and has become what it is today. Founder Jorge Verdejo, who after transferring to Houston from Los Angeles noticed a missing connection in the local automotive scene and what started as just a gathering of no more than 10 cars that included machines from the Ferrari and Lamborghini clubs as well as beautiful classic machines now hosts over 400 cars and gathers automotive enthusiasts of all ages.

Founder Verdejo said, "We're expecting a blend of everything from 1920 Model T's, collector cars, exotics and high-end specialty cars."
