Porsche 918 Hybrid

This past April, Porsche’s development chief, Wolfgang Duerheimer, said the company would put the 918 Hybrid into production if enough potential customers showed interest in buying one. According to confidential sources, more than enough people have made non-binding expressions of interest, and why not? The car combines exceptional performance with incredible fuel economy and emissions and is now inching closer towards production. The 918 will do zero to 100 km/hr in less than 3.2 seconds and the drivetrain can be run in one of four modes: Eco, Hybrid, Sport, or Race. The Race mode uses features similar to the kinetic energy recovery systems seen in Formula 1. Amazingly, Porsche says the car has a top speed of 198 mph and will circle the Nurburgring in less than 7:30, all while maintaining a superb fuel consumption of 3 liters per 100 kilometers (78.4 mph.) We are eager to see this incredible car put into production!
