Porsche 918 Spyder Packed with More Power Post Production

Can you think of anything more exciting than a mid-engine Porsche with a 500-horsepower 3.4-liter V8 and an additional 218 horsepower courtesy of two electric motors? We can only think of one thing – more powerful. According to a report from Autocar, Porsche is said to be enlarging the displacement of the gas-swilling engine in order to extract more power from the 918 Spyder. Once it goes into production, the 918 will sport both soft and hard tops, as well as a slightly heavier front end in order to provide adequate crash resistance. When the hybrid supercar hits the market, the 22-inch wheels will likely be downsized and side exhausts may be rerouted. If all goes according to plan, Porsche will expedite about 1,200 918 Spyders ready to go on sale sometime around 2014. At Porsche of North Houston, we’re dedicated to helping you find the car of your dreams.
