The Children's Fund 2011 Gala

The Children's Fund 2011 Gala was held on Friday, May 6th at the Intercontinental Hotel in Houston. It was a huge success! We decided we wanted to help with the Gala and provided an auction item, a Porsche Boxster to drive for a weekend! What a great prize! We know someone will be smiling all weekend long!

Porsche 911 Heaven

Thanks to everyone that came out last night to “The Gateway to Luxury” event at the Million Air Houston at the William P. Hobby Airport. Hundreds of attendees came out and enjoyed live music and complimentary gourmet bites and desserts. We had Porsche 911s on display and Executive Air Share, Avant Air and American Jet International brought their private jet collections! It was an amazing event!

“The Gateway To Luxury Event”

We are excited to announce we are sponsoring “The Gateway to Luxury Event” on December 2^nd from 7pm-10pm, taking place in two hangers at the Million Air Houston at the William P. Hobby Airport. There will be live music and complimentary gourmet bites and desserts. We will have three Porsche 911s on display. Executive Air Share, Avant Air and American Jet International will be bringing their private jet collections and Steve McQueen’s vintage plane collection will be featured! Part of the proceeds will benefit Angel Flight, a charitable organization that provides free air transportation to those with medical needs. We’re expecting about 600 attendees. Ermenegildo Zegna Trunk Show was a Great Success

On September 9^th we hosted The 2010 Fall Ermenegildo Zenga trunk show. Ermenegildo Zenga celebrated 100 years of Innovation with the debut of the Centennial and Platinum collections. It was a great hit! Chef Steve Haug from Del Frisco’s did an amazing job on the cuisine. Customers enjoyed themselves as they sipped on Italian wine and beer and got fitted with exquisite samples from Ermenegildo Zenga’s collections and checked out the beautiful Porsches in our showroom. Upcoming Porsche Swap Meet at Porsche of North Houston

The Lone Star Region of the Porsche Club of America is hosting the 2nd Annual Porsche Swap Meet at Porsche of North Houston, Saturday October 16th, 2010 from 8:00am - 2:00pm rain or shine!

If you’re seeking an obscure part for your Porsche, this is your best chance to find it in the Greater-Houston area. Every Porsche packrat and a handful of dealers in a 250-mile radius will be bringing their odds and ends for sale or swap. In addition Porsche of North Houston will have OEM Porsche parts at discounted prices. You’ll see a range of Porsche models and parts rarely seen together! Last year, we had a great turnout of 60 cars ranging in model year from 1953 to 2010! The event has a free admission and will offer food and beverages on site. There will be a “Porsche Through Time” car display in addition to all the vendors and swap items.

Porsche of North Houston Throws Event Of The Year

More than 500 Porsche enthusiasts crowded through our doors on Thursday, July 15th to celebrate the Grand Re-Opening of Porsche of North Houston along with the launch of the all new 2011 Cayenne. Our event featured world cuisine and a wine tasting in the showroom with a music from Houston favorite Divisi Strings' Collide.

Our service department was transformed in a hip "red lounge" featuring a wine and champagne bar and a DJ spinning tunes.

"We really felt the event showcased both the luxury and performance side of Porsche", said Kelly Wolf, General Manager. He added, "So many customers came to me and said they'd never attended an automotive event like this. From washroom attendants, to Cayenne model car gifts to a red carpet, our goal was provide all our guests with a unique experience they would always remember."

Ruth Meric Catering showcased tastes from Italy, Spain, France and California. The Chicken Cordon Bleu and Paella were big hits."The food was incredible", stated Karen Blue, wife of Dealer Principal Todd Blue."The caterer did an amazing job". Double Cross Vodka featured a "Porschetini" - our custom drink for the evening - and brought along a gorgeous ice sculpture. Local Brewer Saint Arnold provided beer.

"We couldn't be happier with how this event turned out", Dealer Principal Todd Blue said. "This was a wonderful opportunity to reintroduce Porsche of North Houston to the Houston marketplace and to solidify us as Houston's only 'boutique Porsche dealer', focused on delivering an extraordinary experience for all who visit our store".

It's More Than Just a Drive

Yes, the Ozark Tour is a driving event. It's an incredible driving event, but there is so much more. The two resorts we use are spectacular. Even Porsche owners are impressed with the accommodations. The coupe de gras, however, may be the meals.

With the exception of the Golden Corral in Marshall, TX, which is there for variety and expediency, the meals are social events that satisfy even the the most discriminating palates. Dinners are buffets with meat, fish and foul in a variety of forms. This is neither the time nor the place to start that new diet.
How would you like to be transported back through time to a 1950's diner complete with the shake or malt of your choice. Not only is the diner fun, the whole town will remind you of Mayberry. Any time your travels take you through, stop in for for breakfast, lunch, or just a snack; eat show them your Porsche identification, and leave. It's on the tab.

7th Annual Classy Chassis Concours d’Elegance a Huge Success!

Porsche of North Houston participated in the 7th Annual Classy Chassis Concours d’Elegance at Reliant Stadium yesterday as an official sponsor! The event benefiting the Shriners Hospitals for Children, featured more than 100 rare and historic cars from across the country. Porsche of North Houston was there with the all new 2011 models of the Cayenne Turbo, Panamera Turbo, Panamera V6 and Boxster Spyder. We were positioned next to the race track where you could donate to Shriners Hospital for Children to ride with a professional race car driver in a luxury car! This action packed event was a blast and we can’t wait to come back next year! Dogwood Canyon

Dogwood Canyon, a short drive from Big Cedar Lodge, is a pristine valley laced with history, beauty, and wildlife. A stream fed by waterfalls meanders through the valley. It is crisscrossed by unique bridges, and dotted with trout ponds. Eagles make it their home for the winter feeding on the trout.

The ridge beyond the canyon is home to elk, bison, and longhorns. They actually come up to feed along side the tram that takes you on this mystical tour. The tour is concluded by a cookout complete with Black Angus burgers.

This year Dogwood Canyon is intended only for first time participants. The others will be relegated to piloting their Porsches and dining at the Ozark Cafe, another of our favorite stops. Perhaps the only thing that can rival the beauty of the canyon is the parking lot after each Porsche is safely positioned.

The prerequisites for the Ozark Tour (a road trip for your Porsche) are: you must take your Porsche, you must drive in a prudent manner, and you must have fun. And, yes, the latter two requisites can coexist.

Safety First

This year marks our 28th annual Ozark Tour, a road trip for Porsches. This will be the 40th organized road trip which would include West Texas. Our safety record, while not perfect, is to be commended. In the past three years we drove over 43,000 miles per ticket- 4 speeding tickets. Last year we had 50 cars and made 48 of them invisible.

We split into groups of no more than three. The groups are determined both by drivers of similar skill sets and desires, as well as similar Porsche models. No one is asked to drive outside their comfort zone. We depart at different times and have at least 15 different routes to lunch.
