Porsche To Unveil New Hybrid

Porsche AG will stage the world premiere of a parallel full hybrid model at the upcoming Geneva Motor Show.
The world premiere in Geneva is being complemented by the 918 RSR hybrid racing car concept, making its first public appearance in front of a European audience. The mid-engine coupé combines the design of the 918 Spyder with the technology of the 911 GT3 R hybrid racing car.
The V8 engine in the 918 RSR is a further development of the direct injection engine from the successful RS Spyder race car and now offers an output of 563 hp (420 kW) at 10,300 rpm in the 918 RSR. The electric motors on the two front wheels each contribute 75 kW to the peak drive power of 767 hp (572 kW). This additional power, which is generated during braking, is stored in an optimized flywheel accumulator.

Porsche is considering selling diesel versions of its Cayenne SUV and Panamera sedan in the United States, its biggest market.  The demand for fuel-efficient vehicles has grown quickly, even among luxury car buyers, and a diesel would help Porsche meet that demand.  "We are discussing internally if we should introduce the Cayenne diesel in the US this year. Also a Panamera diesel is an option," said Bernhard Maier, the brand's sales and marketing chief.  Until then see our full selection of Porsche Cayennes and Panameras by clicking here.

Porsche of North Houston Welcomes Lamborghini Houston To Our Growing Automotive Family

Todd Blue, Chairman and CEO of indiGO Auto Group, announced today that the company has purchased Lamborghini Houston located at 13921 North Freeway in Houston, Texas. The transaction, which was completed on January 28th, 2011, is the second franchised automotive dealership Mr. Blue has acquired in Houston following the addition of Porsche of North Houston in January 2010.

IndiGO Auto Group currently consists of three automotive dealerships including Porsche of North Houston, indiGO Classic Cars and Lamborghini Houston. indiGO Classic Cars will soon relocate its operation from Kentucky to Houston to be integrated into the growing indiGO family of automotive dealerships.

“We couldn’t be happier about the addition of Lamborghini Houston to our group,” said Mr. Blue. “We’re thrilled to have previous owner Gary Seale join our company. He has tremendous knowledge of the brand and established relationships in the Lamborghini community.”

A life-long car enthusiast and collector, Mr. Blue added, “I can’t wait for our customers to see the products that Lamborghini has in development. Lamborghini’s state-of-the-art motorcars, specifically the new Aventador LP700-4 (arriving to our dealership this May 2011), which is the replacement for the Murcielago, is quite possibly the most advanced super exotic production sports car ever produced.”

Mr. Blue’s excitement for his new dealership is only rivaled by his genuine adoration of the Houston area and Houstonians. “Our Porsche customers are enthusiasts, our Lamborghini customers are enthusiasts. This is a reflection of the enthusiastic spirit that Houstonians have in all that they do. The car community in Houston is second to none. Our customers really drive their cars; they are passionate about great engineering and design. Our team members love providing our customers with experiences that fulfill their automotive dreams on a daily basis”.

Indigo Auto Group’s mission is to deliver the highest level customer service and offer timeless modernity while honoring the heritage of the brands it represents. It will always be paramount to Mr. Blue’s organization that his dealerships maintain a boutique and authentic environment where customers have experiential automotive ownership. “We’re fortunate to be a privately held automotive group delivering our customers a boutique experience,” said Mr. Blue. “We know our customers on a first name basis and with our expanding brand line-up, we’re able to deliver them design-driven performance, luxury and vintage motorcars.”
