A group of absolutely fanatical and tremendously handy Porsche lovers have constructed a remarkable full-sized Porsche 911.  Using a toy model for reference, the Porsche fans crafted the bodywork out of balsa wood and tape around a custom-made steel bike frame—giving their masterpiece a rendering of gold foil before taking it out for a spin.

Porsche 911 Black Edition

Porsche has announced a new version of the 911 called the Black Edition based on the 3.6-litre Carrera.  Most of the visible interior and exterior is black including the brake calipers.  Color contrast comes from the 19" forged alloy wheels taken from the 911 Turbo, along with the aluminum-look fascia strip, gearlever and air vents.  The Black Edition's standard equipment includes satellite navigation, a 13-speaker Bose sound system, rear parking sensors, cruise control, automatic wipers and auto-dimming door and interior mirrors.  Only 1911 Coupés and Cabriolets will be put on sale worldwide.  The Black Edition is set to be released later this year, in the meantime check out our selection of 911s by clicking here.

Rendering of Porsche’s New SUV, The Cajun!

To satisfy the innate need to go fast and still be able to transport the kids safely, Porsche is bringing out its latest SUV, the Cajun, sometime in 2013. This crossover-type model will be based loosely on the Audi Q5, utilizing its chassis, steering, axles and Quattro drive train. It will be powered by a 3.0L V6 engine producing 290hp and 295lb-ft of torque. Porsche will also offer the Cajun Turbo S with a twin turbo 3.0L V6 with 350hp.  Porsche’s goal with the Cajun is to provide an efficient and sporty model that will be all the things you want in a car: lightweight, easy to handle and agile.  In the market for an SUV, check out our selection of stellar Cayennes.
